Blighted Bellies n Pelvic Dreams

My journey to having a baby as a 38 yo with undetected Pelvic Inflammation Disease

How do you count the days?

on May 11, 2013

I have been thinking, this pregnancy thing is a bit like birthdays.

You actually count the time thats passed.

When u have yr third birthday, you celebrate being alive for 3 yrs, rolling onto your 4th.

When you have the big 4-0, you are moving into your 41st year of life.

Pregnancy is the same. I am currently 5wks 1day (:-) ) but really my christmas beetle embryo is into its 6th week of life. Wikipedia agrees with me.

So now am trying to figure out, when you look at sites like “what to expect” etc, do i search the 5wk or 6wk link?

Am truthfully liking wikipedia-the facts are there, no fancy ‘it has your face now’ namby pamby stuff!

I just want to know what its growing!

I think I looked up both! Especially as my scan week differed to me conception week. So I always read 2 online and in my books!

It’s funny – I just figured this out an hour ago when I downloaded the “What to Expect” app and the “weeks” tab told me I was in week 7 even though I’m 6 weeks along today. I had a “duh” moment. So now I have to go back and update the paragraph in today’s post about baby’s size and development since it’s a week behind! At least I figured it out early!

That was something that always confused me and still does to some extent when dealing with WTE – 1st year book. When looking at things my little guy should be able to do, I look at 4th month stuff for when he is still only 3 months old etc, as this is his 4th month of life (outside the womb).
